  1. I think that the ending was very predictable and it could have ended with a very interesting twist. There were so many possibilities for the ending. I f it were a movie it could have had an "alternate ending". If i were the author I would have had Brother Leon get in trouble and the school would have been closed due to the Vigils.

  2. I had mixed feelings about the end of the novel i feel like there was alot left that needed to be exsplained. I wish it would have exsplained how jerry ended up after the hospital. Although i am glad to see that there is a sequel. The ending could have lasted a little longer and exsplained some more stuff other than that it was an appropiate ending.

  3. I wish the ending elaborated more on what happened after Jerry was sent to the hospital, and if he was alright. For example, the author could've explained if Bro. Eugene recovered, if Bro. Leon got in trouble for the chocolates he bought, and if the Vigils were disbanded after they beat up Jerry. Overall, I thought it was a good book, it kept me reading but, it lacked a good ending.

  4. i was hoping for a better ending of the novel, because i think jerry deserved to win, i also beleive that archie should have some how been punished more harshly for his actions.

  5. I thought the ending could have been better. I think they could have revealed what happened to Jerry in the hospital and the conclusion of Brother Eugene. I was expecting a happy ending with Brother Leon getting busted with the chocolates and that the Vigils no longer existed due to their acts toward people, especially Jerry. Overall, I thought the book was a page-flipper and a great book. It would have been better though if the ending was more revealing.

  6. I didn't like the ending at all because I feel that Brother Leon being an adult, should have stopped the fight and tell them that that was going way overboard. I feel that someway someone should have got Brother Leon in trouble so that he would lose his job. Also, they should have fixed the black box so that there were all black marbles except for one, so Archie could get beat up by Emile. Jerry may have even got revenge on Archie for all the harassment Archie caused him.

  7. I am pretty sure Stephen spelled explained wrong like five times, just saying.

I think the ending was a disappointment because i think the author should have had Brother Leon getting busted and The Vigils reputation being destroyed, but it''s looks like evil won against the good in this book.

  9. The ending could have been done better than it was carried out. The book gave, the reader a good start and made the reader think, but the writer did not give a good enough conclusion. Brother Leon once described as a man of character and a intellectual, but the ending made him look like a character of selfishness. He watched the fight with dignity and pride, while one of his students was being severly injured. The fight scene was smart, but Jerry should have pulled the upset and there should have been one more scene with the Goober. The vigils could've been brought down , due to their wrong morals and ideas. If I had to change one thing about the ending though, I would've made Brother Leon a good character. I did enjoy the book though besides the ending.

  10. This book had a very suitable ending. I believe that it was a different ending than what you read about in most books. Theending was very appropriate because it showed that no one goes through life disturbing the balance and getting away with it.

  11. I believe the book should have ended with Archie and Brother Leon both recieving disciplinary actions. Archie should have been suspended from Trinity and removed as Assinger of the Vigils. Brothr Leon should have been permanately removed from the office of Vice Principal and temporarily been suspended from teaching. I also think Brother Jaqcues should have been named Vice Principal for stopping Emile's vicious barrage on Jerry.

  12. I didn't like the ending. I wanted Jerry to win and become a hero. I also wanted jerry's father to be more involved with the novel. I also didn't like the so called "chocolate fundraiser". I think that's more approiate for elementary than high school. Finally, i wanted Brother Leon to get punished along with the Vigils.

  13. For the most part, I thought the book was sort of boring. I thought the beginning was good but it went all down hill from there. Especially the ending. I feel that Jerry should have won the fight. It just seems like i read the whole book just to see the "bad guys" win.

  14. I did not like the book because to me the author kept restating the fact that Jerry did not sell the chocolates and people were ridiculing him. The ending also was rather awkard because if I knew that the Vigils would always win, I wouldnt of bothered to read the rest of the book. Every book should end with the protagionist with some sort of victory, not total failure. My offical rating is 4/10.

  15. I did not like the ending, I thought that Jerry should have won the fight. I don't think the book was a high school level book. I also thought that Brother Leon should have got in trouble.

  16. I was surprised that Emile won the fight. I did not like the ending, but I found it to be realistic of the world sometimes. I think that the fight should not have ended differently, because it symbolized how corrupt power can ussually overcome justice.
